The Pick Up Program

A convenient way to get fresh food!

We are pleased to offer our farm raised products to the greater Morgan County area in North Alabama, including Decatur, Hartselle, and Priceville. We also welcome you, no matter where you live, to visit our farm for product pick up, see how we raise your food, or just to escape city life for a short time. C’mon out and visit us!

We very intentionally try to simplify the process for both you and us so we can focus on the most important aspect of delivering your food – superior customer service. If you enjoy the simplistic process our thought is you’ll do business with us again. It is that simple.

Here is a more detailed flow of the process with some pointers and notes about how we operate. Please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have.

What You Do

To Order:

  • Using our Online Store, add the items you need to your cart.
  • Proceed to the Check Out Page.
  • On the Checkout Page enter all the pertinent billing and shipping information.
  • To the right under YOUR ORDER you will see your shipping/pick up options. The Pick Up Location is based on your zip code. If the zip code is outside our service area we encourage you to visit our farm for local pick up.
  • Enter your payment information and send the order to us by clicking the Place Order button at the end of the checkout process.
  • You will receive an email confirmation with your order details.

NOTE: Ordering closes the day of your deadline at 10:00 PM. This is always 2 days before your desired Pick Up Location assigned day. For example, if your pick up day is Thursday, the order cutoff is Tuesday at 10:00 PM. Orders made after the deadline will be prepared for the following delivery date slot for your selected location.

To Pick-Up:

  • A day before the scheduled Pick Up date we will send you a reminder email
  • Meet us at the pickup location you selected at checkout.
  • Transfer your food from our cooler to yours.

To Pay:

  • Payment is made online by credit card at the time of checkout (and you can save your card for future orders).
  • We do not accept any other forms of payment nor do we, for safety reasons, carry cash on us.

It’s that easy! There are no strings attached, no minimum orders, and no membership fees. You don’t need to order every time… it is totally up to you. We do all the organizing. All you do is place the order on time, be there to pick it up on time and pay for it. We do the rest.

What We Do

  • Carefully pack your order in ice.
  • Invoice each order separately and include a packing list in your cooler (so you can check our order packing accuracy).
  • Deliver your food on time to the pick up location you selected at checkout.

Important Notes

  • We will be driving a vehicle with our logo affixed to the side. We will always be at the back of the parking lot furthest from the establishment. It is far less crowded at the back of each lot and should make spotting our farm vehicle easier.
  • Please call us at 615-714-4764 if you will be more than 5 minutes late for a pickup appointment or if there is some emergency that prohibits you from picking up your order entirely.
  • A $10.00 restocking fee may be charged for all orders not picked up.
  • The order deadline is 10:00 PM two days before delivery day. Please, be respectful of our schedule and order on time. It keeps everybody happy. 🙂 The full details for order deadlines and pickup times are on each pickup location section listed below.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I bring a cooler to the Pickup Location?

Yes, please bring a cooler. (Unless, of course you live 5-10 minutes from the pickup location and will be going straight home…then you’ll have to decide.) The cooler that we use to deliver your food needs to go back with our truck.

Should I bring my own ice?

Actually there is no need to bring ice. We pack your order in ice at the farm so you simply transfer the ice from our cooler to yours. If you need extra ice, there is usually plenty available at the pickup location because some families who live near the location don’t need the ice that was with their order.

Is it OK if I come early to the Pickup Location?

Absolutely! At least 5-10 minutes early is fine. That is so much better than arriving late. Folks who are regularly late we put on a ‘Do Not Smile At’ list. So if you’d really like your farmer to smile and be happy… be on time or early. 🙂 (Seriously we don’t have such a thing as a “Do Not Smile At” list. I’m just kidding… but please don’t tempt me to make one!)

How long does your truck wait at the Pickup Location?

Well, that’s kind of a loaded question because it usually implies that you’re thinking to arrive after the appointment time! Not good! 🙂 Just remember this: The posted meeting time is an appointment. And it’s always best to arrive early for an appointment. We do. Our truck is almost always at the meeting spot 15-20 minutes early. We appreciate if you also are either early or on time. That way if you hit traffic or another snag you’ll still be only 5-10 minutes late. If you see you are going to be later than that, please call our office number (615-714-4784). I will say this. If you arrive 15 minutes late and haven’t called us, most likely the driver still be there, but we can’t promise that, so you do risk missing your food.

So, if I miss a pick-up and had already paid for the food... then what?

Rest assured, we’ll take care of you. We will fully credit your account with the amount that you paid. Note: We warn customers that there may be a $10 restocking fee for missed orders, but in reality, our protocol for this type of situation is forgiveness and understanding. So no worries…we won’t add any fees.

Of course, if the same person were to miss too often…we would have to initiate the restocking fee but that’s only in extreme cases. However, we completely understand life gets in the way sometimes. We just roll with the punches. 🙂

May I buy EXTRA food from the driver at the Pickup Location?

I really wish you could, but honestly, for a variety of reasons (some of them zoning and Cottage Law regs) the answer needs to be a firm no. The important point to remember is that the drop point is not a point of sale. It is simply a delivery and pick-up spot for food previously ordered, invoiced and shipped direct from our farm.
